How to resize your watch by removing links
Resizing your watch can cost $15+ depending on the type of watch and the store that removes the watch links. Over the years my wife has purchased multiple watches from third party sellers that do not include free resizing. I decided to learn how to remove the watch links on my own to save money.
I found a cheap $5 tool on Amazon that works perfectly to remove watch links without damaging the watch. Using the Zacro Watch Band Strap Link Pin Remover Repair Tool Kit, I successfully resized multiple watch bands. Here is a link to the item (referral link):
Check out the video above to see exactly how to resize your watch with the watch link remover tool kit.
The link remover tool allows you to easily push the pins out of the watch band that hold the links of the watch together. Once the correct amount of links are removed to match the size of your wrist, connect back the remaining links and insert one of the pins you removed to reconnect the full watch band.
You can achieve the same results with some household items like tiny screwdrivers, strong push pins, or other fine tipped metal objects. My experience trying those and aligning the watch properly without damaging the watch was unsuccessful and quite frustrating. The $5 tool on Amazon provided sufficient cost savings especially using with multiple watches and greatly reduced the frustration of trying to remove watch links with household tools.
